The Krewe of Orléans is pleased to announce its 2nd royal couple for the 2017 Mardi Gras Ball—Mr. & Mrs. Sean & Sherelle Reed.
Sean Reed is a native of New Orleans, LA, who grew up in the 9th Ward. He attended J.F. Kennedy High School and Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, La. Sean has been married to Sherelle Alexander Reed for 22 yrs and is the father of their 3 children–Sean , Seanil and Seante. Sean and his wife Sherelle now reside in Frisco, TX as a result of Hurricane Katrina
Following college, Sean enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served our country in the Persian Gulf War. Through this service, Sean was honorably discharged and became listed as a 100% disabled veteran. He is admired for his patriotism in that his selfless decision to protect our freedom came at a personal price and a great sacrifice. Sean is now retired from the US Postal Service where he worked as a clerk.
Strong family values are at the very core Sean’s character. He is very competitive in nature and has an encouraging way to bring out the BEST in the performances of others. Sports are his forte! He volunteers as an official with the Richardson YMCA and has made a positive impact within various parts of the organization. Sean believes in leading by example and is a well-recognized mentor to both children and young adults in the community. Sean’s favorite slogan is: “If you change your mind, you can change your life”! This sentiment is echoed in everything he does and everything he stands for. He made it his priority to move forward in life making better choices while positioning himself and his family for great success.
Sherelle Alexander Reed is a native of New Orleans, La. who grew up in the 7th Ward. She attended St Mary’s Academy, Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, La and University of Phoenix where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. As a result of Hurricane Katrina, Sherelle and her family, which includes Sean Reed (her husband of 22 years) and her three children–Sean, Seaniil and Seantem–relocated to Texas. While their children have returned to Louisiana to continue their education goals, Sherelle & Sean Reed continue reside in city of Frisco. Sherelle is proud of her three children and feel that being a mother is her greatest ongoing accomplishment in leaving a legacy on earth.
Sherelle has been a Corporate Instructor for Bank of America for the past 10 years and is the Founder and Visionary of Resilience Entity, Inc., a movement that empowers women and girls to Learn from the Past, Live Today and Pursue Purpose. Some of the impactful events she has organized includes Dresses for Dolls–an initiative which has provided prom gowns for hundreds of girls in need; Vision Board Parties, and Rise and Call Her Blessed–a Mother’s Honors Breakfast in New Orleans.
Sherelle is consistently resilient through life’s challenges, and she believes leaving a legacy is the responsibility of every parent. She is fun, personable and loving with a personality that moves the hearts of many. Sherelle has a heart for ALL people and she can be found inspiring others every Wednesday morning with her weekly “WAKEUP!” Wednesday Words broadcasted on social media. Sherelle’s purpose is to empower others and without judgment and she believes making a positive impact in this world is why she was created.
Presenting 2016 Empress Donna Brousseau wearing her custom design iridescent full crystal gown and matching wheel backpiece. Empress Donna pranced down the aisle waiving her royal wand in even pace to allow attendees to capture a glimpse of her Royal elegance. Empress Donna was beautifully decorated and captured the hearts of everyone that was able to see her smile as bright as stars. Her impressive iridescent crystal crown perfectly complimented her gown.
Presenting 2016 Emperor Mike Brousseau wearing an elaborate custom burgundy velvet robe heavily detailed with crystal Fleur-de-lis and a matching iridescent crystal Fleur-de-lis full round crown. He walked down the aisle while white gloved and waving to all attendees. At times, Emperor Brousseau showed his fun loving character in the many poses and gestures he made for guests as he approached the stage.
After the crowning ceremony, the Royal Couple changed into equally elaborate regal outfits suited for royalty. The Royal Couple had nearly 200 personal friends and family attend the event to celebrate this grand occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Brousseau are authentic native New Orleanians with distinctive style, class, and New Orleans charm!

A federal government legal services contractor and City of Allen employee, Mr. Michael Brousseau retired as Director of Probation with the New Orleans Municipal Court. A St Augustine Purple Knight, Mr. Brousseau, studied at Grambling University, and graduated from Southern University of New Orleans.
Thirty five years of Federal service, Mrs. Donna Brousseau served in management and non-management positions for Social Security Administration. She is a graduate of Xavier University, and holds a Masters degree from Southern University of New Orleans.
Celebrating 33 years of marriage, our Royal Couple attends St. Jude Catholic Church, members and supporters of the Collin County Black Chamber of Commerce, The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, volunteer with The City of Allen, members of Xavier and Southern Alumni Chapters, Krewe de Roux, and support a variety of charities. The Royal Couple has one adult daughter, Brittny, in Allen, Texas.
